Woman alleges surgical mistake has caused eating, speech issues

Despite several years of medical school and residency, doctors and surgeons make mistakes. After all, physicians and surgeons are humans and we all make mistakes. However, it is when those mistakes are beyond repair or could have been prevented that a surgical mistake can turn someone life's completely upside down. This is a time when some in New York believe the surgeon should be held liable for their negligent actions.

Woman dies after C-section, estate files medical malpractice suit

As a general rule, C-sections are very beneficial because they often save the lives of unborn children and their mothers. However, in some cases, complications can arise. When the hospital staff does not have the appropriate medication or tools on-hand to combat the complications, it can lead to the mother's or the baby's premature death. Unfortunately, that is what reportedly happened in a recent case outside of New York, when a mother lost her life during a c-section surgery; and this tragic case has led to the filing of a medical malpractice claim.

Multiple doctor errors and misdiagnoses almost end girl's life

Although no one wants to experience a misdiagnosis or a botched surgery, the truth of the matter is that this occurs more frequently than many New York residents think. As many as 20 percent of medical cases across the nation are misdiagnosed. Nearly 30 percent of those doctor errors were life-threatening or resulted in permanent disability or death.

Alleged surgical error resulted in nail tech suffering injuries

As many individuals in New York may be aware, many occupations require the use of workers' hands and arms in order to perform their jobs satisfactorily. When an injury to the hand or arm occurs, it can often render them unable to perform their jobs. According to a lawsuit filed at the beginning of May 2014, it appears that a physician surgical error has led to a woman being unable to work as a nail tech.

CVS sued by woman after receiving wrong dosage of prescription

Most New York residents put trust in their physicians and pharmacists that they will provide proper medical care, medications and dosages of drugs. In fact, most never give a second thought to their prescription once they receive it from their pharmacist. It is just assumed that a medical professional would provide accurate instructions and the proper dosage of medication. Unfortunately, this is not always the case and wrong dosage prescriptions can be given, which may result in serious harm.

Mother sues physician and hospital for birth injury of son

During what should be the most joyous time of a parent's life, many New York mothers experience complications during delivery, which can lead to short- and long-term health concerns for both mother and baby. In many cases, when a birth injury occurs, irreparable damage is caused that cannot ever be repaired, leading to long-term medical care necessary. A mother from another state has filed a medical malpractice claim against doctors and a hospital after they allegedly caused irrevocable harm to her baby at birth.
